This softbox works fine initially, but the second time I used it I had to open the front cover (diffuser) to fix one of the arms that had come loose from its socket; When I pulled the velcro to open it, the velcro came loose from the lid (pain). The next time I used it for the third time, I had a similar problem and pulled the velcro on the front diffuser only to do it again elsewhere. Just wanted to say it has a folding umbrella function, the umbrella handle doesn't extend all the way so you have to put it through the center section when setting up and taking down. It's hard to put back in your pocket, but it works. Comes with a lock nut, thumbscrew and washer to secure the Octabox to the Bowen mount (you can rotate to mount). Instructions? All in all, not a bad modifier. It's quite big and the price is good. The softbox folds up like an umbrella, so storing it away is pretty quick and easy. Installation was a little tricky the first time, but easier than the old softboxes. The material is ok too, not durable but just over cheap. Folding and unfolding is not always easy, the bars sometimes fall out and you have to reinsert them every now and then. I was looking for a Bowens mount portable octo box that folds up like an umbrella for use with my Godox 600BM portable flash and this Octo does exactly that. The assembly is difficult due to the lack of instructions, but is not difficult to accomplish. After assembly it works great.
