The stand is about 6mm shorter, meaning each card won't fit properly, freeing up adjacent slots if any. It's not a problem with the top clearance in the 1U case - they had enough room to go up, the riser itself just doesn't "raise" high enough to support an installed card.

Just works. Fiction. Just be aware, however, that the locking tab on the male end of the plug will not fit the latches on most jacks, so in many cases you won't be able to lock the plug securely.
