Just a pain good for sport

Curve doesn't match shaft curve, leaves a lot of glue. I find it easier to just remove the tape from the stock as the glue will come loose with it, which is the correct way to go.

Pros
  • Good product for the price
Cons
  • No

it didn't handle the graphite rolls at all

The instructions were ok but I just didn't like that the tool seemed to bite into the graphite roll so I sent the product back and got back to my knife.

Pros
  • Nice packaging
Cons
  • Miscellaneous Miscellaneous

Needed to intercept golf clubs.

Bought to clean the shaft belt after removing the clutch. I've found that if you cut the handle with a knife and use the tool as a snow blower under the handle, it also gets under the tape, allowing you to pull out the handle and the old tape at the same time.

Pros
  • The best in its niche
Cons
  • No machine

Not effective at removing old tape

I was hoping this would speed up old tape removal compared to using the utility knife. Unfortunately, my utility knife works much better than this tool. Either the curvature of the cutting edge is wrong or the cutting edge is too blunt. Maybe both. i give it back

Pros
  • Decent performance
Cons
  • Not bad, but...

Peel off the tape or rip off the old dry clips!

I compared both models of shank latch pullers. Both worked fine for this, but what I wanted was a tool to take off those roasted old ping buttons when they're getting old and hard. The composite model didn't cut or slice, but this model cut deep with the sides and a sharp edge. Works pretty well, not with a knife. Great ball grip for holding on and digging in. A++ for this model.

Pros
  • Sturdy construction
Cons
  • So-so

Could be better

It would be great if the inside diameter of this tool was a little larger than the outside diameter of a golf club shaft. This way the tool fits around the entire shaft. It doesn't work that way, so you can only scrape off a tiny piece of tape at a time. I still usually use a regular razor blade instead of that steel rod tool. I still use it occasionally on graphite reels as it's a bit easier to use without squeezing out the graphite.

Pros
  • Absolutely amazing!
Cons
  • Secret
