Aha! Hair Care: Hair Care

Of course I remember banana hairpins from the 80's and I was sad to see that they were discontinued. They work great if you have very fine hair and just want to get rid of your nape without going completely bald! They work as I recall. Easy to open and close and if you have your hair loose it holds up very well.

Pros
  • Glitter
Cons
  • I don't remember

Not suitable for fine/soft hair.

Ladies if you grew up on these pieces and remember how heavy they were and really caught your hair, don't order them. They glide right through my hair (which is admittedly thick but fine/soft). Also, 5 inches is too small. That's more than a size we could wear on our 8 year old heads. Try a larger size if you decide to try it. But remember, if your hair is okay, it's not going to stay.

Pros
  • Easy to use
Cons
  • Infinitely slow

Disappointed product for styling tools and equipment

Too small! They should be labeled as children's products, they are too small/short to hold an adult woman's hair. Too bad I didn't pay attention to the size before buying. I broke another one that was about 1.5-2 inches longer than this one, not sure if Goody resized or what?

Pros
  • Finally bought
Cons
  • Too long to wait

Cute but fragile for hair combs

They are cute and just as I remembered them a million years ago. The price was great but the actual product is pretty flimsy. I don't see them lasting long and they won't be useful for thick or heavy hair. My daughter has very thick curly hair and it cannot support her weight at all. I give them to a friend because they don't work for us. Suitable for fine hair.

Pros
  • Few competitors
Cons
  • Something is wrong

TERRIBLE TRASH $$!

It's terrible and CHEAP, CHEAP, CHEAP! Perhaps you could use them on your child. What is Goody thinking? They're not worth the price or the hassle. It is better to buy in the store.

Pros
  • Weight
Cons
  • Short instructions

You get what you pay for

I was a teenage girl in the 80's when banana clips were popular. I bought this because I'm tired of getting hair in my face (eyes, nose, mouth) on a windy day. My hair is thin (but there is a lot of it) so I needed the comb teeth close together. They hold up better than the competitor's wider teeth. However, 5 inches is way too short and the plastic is so cheap compared to what a 'classic' should be. I don't wear them because they are so cheap.

Pros
  • Beautiful packaging
Cons
  • So-so

Happen. (Combs) on Styling Tools & Accessories

They suit my short fine hair and are the right size for me but I wouldn't buy them if I saw them in a shop. The color is really orange - not attractive. (No tortoiseshell at all - and that's fine.) I appreciate the quick shipping - but I skipped them in favor of the brown ones.

Pros
  • Done
Cons
  • Makes me nervous

Look elsewhere if you want the old school!

Well I haven't grown to my adult hair yet and I still have very light baby hair. As others have mentioned; these clips do NOT look like the ones from the 80's/90's. They are tiny and extremely junky. They barely work on my fine baby hair so I certainly wouldn't recommend them to anyone with a decent amount of hair as they won't work at all. I'd recommend that you look elsewhere if you're expecting something reminiscent of old-school banana clips.

Pros
  • Wide range
Cons
  • Doubtful purchase for the elderly
