We are very happy with the dehydrator. We made beef and turkey. Instructions followed and completed in 6 hours. I love a window that you can see through.

I bought this to cook Beef Jerky but it is so easy to use and clean. It makes our journey to healthy eating so much easier and more fun!

Plastic trays break easily and are too thin to clean. The warning on the packaging and on the car warned of cancer. I will never, ever, ever use this. Received it as a gift, just opened it and is non-refundable.

I was excited but when I turned the box it turned out that this product can cause cancer or harm the reproductive system. I wish it had been said somewhere before buying it, otherwise I wouldn't have. I would also like information on where this chemical is located as the trays are plastic. So every time I use this, the chemicals will get into my food? I am considering returning this product for another.

The dehydrator comes with instructions and recipe booklet. It was pretty easy to set up for the first use, I was able to cook beef jerky at high heat and it worked great. It has more than enough shelves to prepare a large batch of canned goods. Make sure it's a few inches from the walls to allow for adequate airflow from the back and top. The interior is very easy to clean with a damp cloth, but dry it before use.

The Gourmia food dehydrator was the first food dehydrator I've used and it really made the process easier! The product came with a manual that gave instructions on how to dry a variety of foods. I've used it to make dried apples and bananas with great results. Once you've cooked your food on the tray, all you have to do is turn it on and set the time/temperature, nothing more is required. It's easy to make a tasty and healthy snack with this product, I definitely recommend it!

In my experience it heats up to expected levels in a reasonable time. I've used it to make fantastic venison. Apples and bananas are still chewy and have great natural flavor with nothing added but lemon juice to prevent browning. I don't understand the bad reviews. It will beep when you plug it in, then you need to press "Start" and set the time/temperature. Also, don't expect "banana candy" when you're dehydrating bananas. I bought this product mainly for drying fruit/vegetables and meat. I haven't had a chance to dry meat yet, but I've had a chance to dry beets (for chips) and mangoes. Overall, this is a decent dehydrator, but it does have a few downsides. Disadvantages: 1. Heat distribution leaves something to be desired.
