Got them fast for my opinion

Received the product in just a couple days, free.Four cutters came in a zippered semi-hard package . Had top and bottom tabs for each one to assist holding them in place. Felt OK in my hand, but our pruning days have passed for this year so usage I cannot answer. Got them to replaced ones that have had their day in the sun. Looking forward to using them.

Pros
  • bueno
Cons
  • The grafting tape and plant labels may not be reusable, which may make the kit less cost-effective over time

This is NOT a true grafting knife

This looked like a nice package of grafting equipment, but once you open the knife, you know it's not the right thing. True grafting knives are beveled on just one side (to allow you to make straight cuts), while this one has two beveled sides. The hooked blade, for bud grafting, may work just fine, but that's not what I got it for. Besides the knife, the tags, wires, and sealing material should be useful (though the sealing stuff is essentially plastic wrap, not waxy parafilm). I'll be buying…

Pros
  • Great
Cons
  • The grafting tape may be difficult to remove after the graft has healed, causing potential damage to the plant

Good value for price

This is not a great knife. The steel isn't fantastic and the blade locking mechanism leaves something to be desired for those of us outside the UK who are allowed to own knives with real safety features. However, you aren't going to find much better at a price like this, which is what I was aiming for. I just used it today to trunk graft some willow cuttings together to make what should eventually be a nice thick-trunked bonsai and it worked fine. I don't expect it to hold up for a long time…

This is not Single side bevel grafting knife

If you are looking for grafting knife that is good for cliff grafting this is not what you want. Look for knife that has bevel in one side.

Pros
  • Nice knife
Cons
  • The grafting tape may become brittle and break easily, leading to failed grafts

Plant label is not metal and parafilm is low quality

The plant labels are not metal, but foil covered over thin foam which will not last in outside weather. The parafilm is of such low quality that if you try to wrap something, it will tear before you can do so. You are better off using regular plastic food wrap. The grafting knife is double edged and not a single edge grafting knife. It states that it is stainless steel on the blade and seems to be the only thing in this purchase that was correct in the selling description.

Pros
  • Shears & Scissors
Cons
  • The knife may require constant sharpening to maintain effectiveness, which can be time-consuming and expensive

Budget Gardening Knife

This knife is good for simple pruning, cutting, and grafting. The added items are a nice bonus. I would not look at this as anything close to a professional or even high hobby grade tool. If you want a very sharp 2 sided grafting knife, you may want to try a more expensive model. For the price, this tool is very handy and I am glad I bought it.

Pros
  • N/a
Cons
  • The plant labels may not adhere well to wet or moist surfaces, leading to lost identification of plants

Low Price for a low quality product.

You get what you pay for. my knife was dull and heavy I ended up using a utility knife to complete my grafting job. The tape that comes with the package is very very low quality. I would not recommend this package.

Pros
  • Fast shipping, good packaging, good quality
Cons
  • The kit may be expensive, making it less accessible to budget-conscious gardeners

I was excited when this knife arrived as the reviews said it was sharp. It isn't sharp at all. It barely whittles. I can't get it in deep enough for the budding technique and it doesn't budge at all when I try whip and tongue. Very disappointed.

Pros
  • Thanks..
Cons
  • The grafting tape may not provide enough ventilation to the graft, resulting in poor healing

Glad I let him win this one

My husband and I debated between this and another grafting knife. Glad I let him win this one. Do not let the bad reviews fool you.The knife is sharp out of the box and comfortable to hold. Labels are coated with thin metal film and easy to write on. A++++

Pros
  • Once you get the hang of it it's a really great tool
Cons
  • The plant labels may not adhere well to some surfaces, resulting in lost identification of plants
