I got this for my lover in his stocking for Christmas. He applies beard oil after showering, then combs his beard, then applies balm and combs it again. And then I immediately jump on him because he smells so good (seriously, are there pheromones in that?!) It really transforms his beard from tramp to Civil War general. Not a *strong* hold, but adds shine and tames the wildness. Oh, and did I mention it smells great?

It wasn't smooth when you work it in your hands and apply it like a previously purchased product from this brand. It was gritty with small bits that don't melt when you work the product in your hand, it leaves small waxy bits in your beard that I had to comb through. I like the scent but overall I'm very disappointed with it, it reminds me of old car wax that has sat for a long time and started to dry out or something.

It takes time to get through the routine, but when you do it does. Boy oh boy does it work. They used to call me Jab at work because my beard stood out like an Amish. This is my second purchase after the cigar blend. The product itself. good product! The oil goes on nice and smooth to condition my beard and the balm isn't too heavy but provides a nice natural styling element to keep those "flying trails" tight and under control. The scent is very pleasant and fresh. brave, great overall. The scent is not overpowering or persistent. I like this stuff. I prefer the cigar blend but that's just me. I like it as my backup product.
