Not Worth The Money

I purchased this acrylic paint for my arts and crafts projects and was disappointed with the result. Through trial and error, I found that it had poor coverage and the color wasn't true to the description. The consistency was also tough to work with and once dry, it felt chalky and not smooth. The only positive is that the packaging was decent. I would not recommend this product and will be searching for a better alternative.

Pros
  • Pro: Packaging was decent
Cons
  • Con: Poor coverage and consistency, color not true to description

Big orange is good for color

The best most opaque student orange you will get. I know I checked. Exactly the same color as in their metal tubes. Semi-matt, no smell. If you like this orange, try their Vermilion, it's great.

Pros
  • good stuff
Cons
  • I don't remember but there was something

Disappointment for art, painting and artist supplies

Grumbacher Academy acrylic colors are student colors so I had realistic expectations. But even then I was surprised and disappointed by how low pigmented, thin and drippy they are. They lack richness even when compared to other budget acrylic paints like Liquitex Basics, Amsterdam Standard, Pebeo Studio or Winsor & Newton Galeria. The old Grumbacher acrylic paints in metal tubes (still available from the beginning of 2017) were better. Long out of production, their finest professional grade…

Pros
  • Best
Cons
  • Ugly packaging
