Built to last: sorting and stacking toy

I bought these bricks for my 1 year old 2.5 years ago. This is the perfect size for a toddler starter kit. My kids loved all the pieces especially the guy with the car. We later bought Haba Fantasy Blocks which add a lot more detail to the set. I recently pulled out these blocks for our 8 month old son and his older brothers love building towers for him. Surprisingly these blocks still look like new which is rare in my home (I have 5 boys aged 9 and under) and I'm sure I'll be keeping this set…

Superb quality and the most unique design of wooden toys

The quality of these bricks is really impressive and I'm rarely impressed. My daughter is 10 months old and loves to chew, toss, carry and knock over these dice after I stack them for her. Her favorite square with a bell in it. She shakes it like a rattle. Next up is the ball. It fits perfectly in her little hand. She plays with it every day and I love the quality and unique design. As others have said I will be buying more and I have no doubt they will keep me happy for many many years to…

Fun and Unique

We wanted a SAFE alternative to most pads you currently buy in stores, which may or may not contain lead paint - especially with children putting EVERYTHING in their mouths. We decided that HABA, a German company with an excellent reputation, is exactly what we need. Our 7 month old LOVES these blocks because they are so unique. Spoken to the one with the mirror. She likes the donut shaped donut and the little guy with his car. This is the best present she got for Christmas and that speaks…

Cool! well made product!

These are solid, well made wooden blocks. Perfectly smooth and durable. The colors are just right, not too bright but bright enough to catch my son's attention. There are only 8 pieces in this set but I really like the variation in this set - a block with a mirror, a rattle, a bell, a wooden car with wheels, a little man, 3 round things (one with a hole in the center, a cylindrical solid block, a sphere). They are small enough to carry around as a clutch toy. They are also strong enough not to…

Baby loves them in early play and activity toys

My 9 month old son loves these bricks. They're the perfect size for him to play with alone and he loves all the different shapes. But what I like most is that they encourage development as I play with them. I show him how to roll the ball, how the different pieces fit together, how the rattle sounds at different distances, how it stands out in the mirror, move the car and of course build things that he can knock over. He enjoys everything and learns along the way. I also like that they are…

Beautiful, loved first set of dice

Bought for my son for his first Christmas (2009) when he was 5 months old. He immediately liked the figure and the bell block and the mirror block. A few months later he fell in love with the ball and the car. He's now 16 months old and still being played with every day. He likes to look at himself in a mirror block, has "Mario" typed on his typewriter, and won't snatch the yellow balloon from his hand until we're leaving the house. Despite daily use for 11 months (green circle is favorite…

Fun toy for early development and activity

Bought this for my 5 month old son to start building blocks. To summarize this set in one word I would have to use EXCITING. The ball seems to move by itself and my son can't take his eyes off it. The ball is also stackable and easily balanced on the screw cylinder. I like to take a green donut and place a spiral cylinder in the middle. When I roll it up my child loves to punch out the middle. Surprisingly, the sphere also stacks and balances easily on the spiral cylinder. I think the HABA…

Away with the red rattle! It has dangerously high levels of arsenic!

I bought Haba toys for my child because I was convinced that they were safe children's toys made in Germany. Because of this, I didn't hesitate to pay extra for these blocks. So I was shocked to find that the red rattle in this set contains a large amount of arsenic, while the blue cloth cap contains a small amount of bromine. (My kid loves to chew on this hat). Overall, this toy is rated HIGH for toxicity by HealthyStuff.org. Some Haba toys have toxicity level 0, but unfortunately this block…
