These bolts are only attached to the arch and not to the sides of the bases. Most fenders I've ridden before have enough side material to fall off and tie the zipper at the bottom. I was a bit worried they wouldn't be stable enough but after two rides with some technique, jumps and fast short runs my concerns were gone.
