Straw Bird Nest Good for birds

Bought for my mother's Green-cheeked Parakeet (tiny parrot). I pinned it to my page as an alternative night out for her - until she got around to it. But the nest itself is just as advertised. It's woven from a natural material - not very durable - but you get two, so I think they're interchangeable.

Pros
  • Great for me
Cons
  • Almost never

I wouldn't have bought it if I had seen it beforehand

So. This has nothing to do with a way to put it in a cage. There is no way to attach anything to it unless you buy something else to install. He can't sit on the floor because he literally looks like a basket like he wouldn't sit on his side with a hole in his side. It is really too big for the canary shown in the photo. It's very strange, like it's just a basket.

Pros
  • handy piece
Cons
  • weight

This could be a bug for the canary cage

I pasted this, took the hook and hung it in the canary cage. The nest doesn't come with anything to hang or attach it to, but I was able to make an S hook to hang it so it was securely attached to the cage. Then I walked past the cell. One of the canaries sat on it and pecked at straws. I have a hunch it will be separated within a day or two. But they liked it and got started right away. So I know they like the nest.

Pros
  • Easy install
Cons
  • Upgradeable

Perfect for zebra finches!

Bought for my zebra finches - just added a nest because I noticed they enjoy spending time together. They used the nest the same day I put it in their cage! They seem very comfortable and happy there. As mentioned in other reviews, the nests come with small wires to attach to the cage. The wires were just what we needed to hang this up. It seems sturdy enough for our little finches. The inside of the nest also seemed safe - I cut out a few pieces that I thought were a bit long, but that was…

Zebra Finch LOVE – Birds

Includes two bases with pieces of wire to attach to the cage. My finches came in here and didn't want to get out, they liked it. They haven't behaved like this with any other nest I've tried. They have abandoned other nests and have been reluctant to use coconut shells. When I put it in, they started right away. Unafraid! I think it's the wide opening and the shape of the nest, it's similar to what they tried to build with coco coir in their last nest. It's not something I can clean so I just…

  • This is Amazing
Cons
  • Not the Best

Got this for my budgies

Update: Be warned: over time, if budgies start biting them, the threads can come loose and tangle them. Luckily I managed to catch one of my budgies that was tangled in the rope and I fought him. If I hadn't been there when it happened he would have strangled himself with it wrapped around his neck and he made the situation worse by struggling to free himself. As soon as the other nest became weak, I removed that one as well. So I'm deducting a star for potential danger. Otherwise they loved it

Pros
  • Enjoyable
Cons
  • Vulgarity

My 2 pairs of zebra finches love these nests!

I bought this set of 2 nests for my zebra finches. I have 2 pairs of finches. Both pairs of finches laid their eggs in each of the nests. The nests came with two thin wires that I wove into the top of each nest for hanging. I threaded the wires through the cage bars and twisted the ends together. This keeps the nests secure in the top corner of each cage. My pairs immediately occupied the nests. I placed them to the side and high in the corners of the flight cages, just as finches build their…
