I have four grandchildren who love this toaster. All four can make pop tarts at the same time. No waiting time. No trouble.

I buy a lot of stuff online but was a bit skeptical about the toaster, we have a Cuisinart can opener and I wanted to stick with the brand. OCD in all its glory. I really love it! It's lightweight (we were shocked) and works great. I would absolutely recommend it!

This toaster is not hot enough. It takes too long to get the toast appearance and crispy crust. Toasting too slowly will simply dry out the bread, removing all of the good moisture from the bread and effectively turning it into a brick. Any true toast lover or home cook will know what I mean.

This toaster has 7 brightness settings. The first time I tried it, I put it right in the middle, at 4. The toast was almost black. So I set it to 2. It's still too dark. Setting 1 was the only acceptable setting. I can't imagine why there are settings 3-7 on this toaster at all.

It does the job and is a huge improvement over the 2 slice model. However, it works slowly. Looking inside, half of the heating elements glow very dimly while the other half remain dark. It is noticeably slower than my existing toaster (different brand). Still, it's a nice, functional device that will hopefully last a very long time.

When I first got it I was ready to turn around and return it. It looks very cheap and definitely had a toxic smell for the first few days. I decided to give it a try because we needed a toaster. It works well! The temperature controller is present and easy to clean. Again, not the best, but for the price you really can't beat it.

I have several Hamilton Beach products. I prefer this manufacturer because their products are average, reliable and fairly durable for an affordable product. I have only a few problems with this model. It feels cheap and the location of the cable on the back is annoying; stands out and disturbs. The reason I chose this model over the digital is because it only had 1 negative review and my last (large) digital toaster from another manufacturer only lasted 2.5 years.

Why am I disappointed? What did I expect from a four slice toaster under $40? The term "stainless steel" must have confused me. Is this stainless steel. The most brittle stainless steel ever! Looks and feels cheap. Look closely at the pictures and imagine a toaster that looks like a tall, skinny toy. Here's a toaster. On the plus side, it looks good, sits and toasts bread pretty well.
