Handcrafted White Matte Speckled Stoneware Dipping Bowl Set From Roro Review

I am in LOVE with these ceramic bowls. They came beautifully wrapped and all in good shape. The pattern is beautiful and each one is different which we love but similar enough to stack on the shelf. They have a great weight and are perfect for salad, soup, cereal, etc. I wish they had plates. I am so glad I bought these bowls. I was looking to replace our Sasaki black stoneware and found these.

I love the look of these, and bought one set as a gift and two sets for myself later. They have been used almost exclusively as salad bowls, maybe once or twice a week, over the past nine months. The first time they were used one was very marked up by the silverware, and now all of them are. And now the glaze is cracking a little with dark veining along the side of one of them. Fantastic bowls! Nice wide and shallow bowls. Sturdy and thick. So they’re not easily chipped. But they’re not so thick that they feel bulky. They look handmade and are beautiful in pictures.

I have to order second sets in both colors just to match for a little more even looks.I bought black and white. I know they are hand made, but like another reviewer said they are glazed very uneven and it’s ok because they hand made but what I expect to put in the set "look-alike” plates instead of putting 1 plate with almost no speckles and another bowl with twice thinner body.It’s hard to see on the picture but left side (both colors) has no speckles and the body itself is so thin compare to…

We like the rustic look and strong materials used. Very eye catching for our stews & soups. We are always looking for old looking stoneware to serve casual meals. Very happy with purchase

These ceramics are awesome. Each one is unique and into itself. The colors are cool and offer some great contrast for beautiful plates of food. These plates and bowls always get a ton of compliments when I serve people food on them. Keep up the hood work and when you restock I’ll surely buy more.

We got the white ones and we love them. They seem to be well made and are easy to clean. We might even end up buying more That's my review.

Very pleased with these bowls, perfect size for pasta dishes, soups, a bit narrower than I was looking for (preferred an 8" bowl) but this fits the bill for what I was looking for. Color perfect, goes with my current dishes. Arrived well packaged too. Going to pick up a few more later!

For those of us who love a handcrafted look of our dish ware .these have a look and feel of expensive boutique stoneware, the color is creamy and the speckle of black is sprinkled in just right.I love that no bowl or plate is exactly alike. I looked at different lines of this kind of dish ware but I ended taking a chance on these and was not disappointed. The picture and description was accurate and if anything they were much better in hand.

These are wonderful heavy and perfectly un-perfectly shaped. Minus one star because one of them got a chipped spot in the coating/finish with normal wear within the first couple weeks. The rest have held up beautifully so far and I've just ordered more - working up to 10 or 12 to feed a crowd.

Upon opening the box we found broken bowls. As it was a gift it was very embarrassing and frustrating. However, replacement bowls came within four days, both intact.

These are lovely bowls and I like them however I wouldn’t recommend using silverware with them - stick with plastic spoons or Chopsticks as they scratch so Easily and then look terrible

The bowls are pleasingly irregular in terms of shape, but the glaze and the speckles are not what the images would lead you to believe. See my included photo. The finish, whatever it is, is soft and powdery, and the speckling is uneven and sparse. They're not bad for $13 bowls, but we're picky about our dinnerware and willing to pay more for higher quality. Buyer beware.

I was so happy when I opened the box and saw my two bowls. They are beautiful and great quailty. I have no idea how anyone could have anything bad to say about them. They also packaged them really well to keep them safe. I cant wait to order the black ones next!

Beautiful bowls - love the unique quality! I didn't realize how big they actually are but they are beautiful and quickly becoming my favorites. I just wish they were slightly smaller and easier to handle.

I purchased the black bowls with white specks to go with the matching plates I previously purchased from this line. Both the bowls and plates are GORGEOUS. Totally handmade looking, each one is unique and they vary from each other. I think my favorite thing about them is the almost matte finish. Its not the typical shiny glaze on most dishes but still wash up beautifully. They also aren’t perfectly round, which makes them even more beautiful in my opinion. They also came packaged perfectly.
