HDV Z96 96 LED Light Kit Review

A little weak but great for light painting as it can even cast light. The heat filter also comes in handy if you want your shots to have a golden tint. I really don't like the button to open and close the battery compartment. It's tiny, rubs off and gets stuck. It's also difficult to find a knob to control the intensity, and at night when you really need this thing you'll have to slog through to find it. However, it does the job.

Ideal for large rooms. It is fully adjustable to finish. The swivel ball adapter has held up so far, although this can be an issue with rough use. I use old Sony camcorder batteries (I swear they will never die), NP-50 lasts an hour and a big FP 70 lasts 3 hours. It also takes AA batteries, which I haven't tried. It's relatively small and easily fits in my camera bag. A necessary option for my 5D II. When I need to shoot an impromptu video, it's ready to go.

Love these. What I particularly like is that I can run it on batteries or with a small, cheap and light power supply. (If using a power adapter, make sure it has the correct center pin diameter - some power adapters are designed for a 2.5mm pin and others for a 2.1mm pin.) Of course there are other inexpensive panels. But this guy is smaller and better color. Don't buy a light just because it has more LEDs. You can't compare them like that. The lamp itself is bright, even in color, compact. Shorter than Flash but slightly wider. Basically, the filters are fine.
