Stick to what you know

I have used Joyce Chance throughout my professional career. When I heard a friend rave about how great they are, I wanted to try them. I was so excited to use them while getting ready for a private 5K dinner for a couple of clients. I only broke 3 lobsters when these things fell apart. The handle broke and is now completely unusable. I had to go back to Joyce. Never switch again

Pros
  • Stylish and modern design
Cons
  • Infinitely sluggish

Best value for money cutlery and knife accessories

I've used Joyce Chen, Mac, OXO scissors, lots of fancy scissors and they are by far the best overall. They are strong and small enough to break. lobster or fish bone and stay sharp enough for thread, tape and paper. The blades are strong and thick, with a wide bevel that doesn't lose its sharpness as quickly as other scissors. The rubber handle is softer and easier to grip than other scissors. I have big hands and have never had a problem with fatigue.

Pros
  • Nicely
Cons
  • For old

Great kitchen utensil.

The first pair was a gift from our cooking friend. loved her. This is our second pair. Like this one a lot. Spicy. Cuts through almost anything. Wide handles make handling easier. Smaller than regular kitchen scissors, so easier to manoeuvre. For some reason the first pair had a problem with one of the handles. Some of the struts in the orange grip broke, making it awkward to use. So I bought a new pair. I would recommend Helen to allow substitutions. The tool is worth it! Costs money.

Pros
  • Ease of use
Cons
  • Compatibility

Loved them until they broke after a year and a half

My wife really liked these scissors when we first got them about a year and a half ago. They are really strong and provide great leverage for cutting bone and some woody plant stems. The handle is broken today on the inside of the handle, near where it meets the steel. It didn't break through all the way, but something in the handle broke, causing the handle to bend and deform instead of transmitting force to the incisors. If these things lasted more than 1.5 years they would be a 4 or 5 star…

Pros
  • Free for educational purposes
Cons
  • sad packaging

BEST for Chefs – Kitchen & Dining

Or anyone who needs strong, sharp scissors. I have been working professionally in the kitchen for about 15 years and this is the best all round tool you can buy. Now I have deviated from Joyce Chance (dam of Helen Chance) several times, but they are better. The handles are made of soft and thick material and the blades are much sharper and thicker. They are included in the short list of necessary equipment for a chef. Pros: Sharp and stays sharp even after multiple uses. Convenience. Will not…

Pros
  • Worth the Money
Cons
  • It's OK
