That works great!

Works great! We use it for our weekly fish fry to get the fillets out of the batter, it holds up so much and now it saves us so much time - LOVE IT! They used that stupid ice skimmer where the fillets kept slipping off, now we just leave them in the batter, lift them all up and then put them in the breadcrumbs to coat them before frying!

7 inches refers to the diameter of the basket, not the handle!

Looks good but I have some problems with the screen. It's just too big for me. I only have one pot it fits in, that's my pot (to make broth/broth/etc). I bought this to get the pasta out of the pot but it will be useless to me. I'd probably be better off with a 5" but it's currently sold out.

Pros
  • Good workmanship
Cons
  • Ugly packaging

The best spider design!

Actually I probably should have gone with a 5 inch spreader. Thing is HUGE! But since I wanted it to work specifically with fried foods, draining the broth and extracting the beans (from the soak), that's spot on. I particularly like the long, long handle that keeps me from squirting hot oil and the fact that it's firmly welded to the basket. Pretty durable and well made. In fact I'll probably order a 5 inch for smaller items now.

Pros
  • Finally bought it
Cons
  • Makes me nervous

Great but check basket size

Quality construction and feels nice in my hands, it's larger than expected so take the time to measure your pots to see if it works with them . I would have gotten a smaller size if I did that as I can only use this with one of my pots now (my fault). The long handle is particularly useful and makes the product that little bit safer when using it to pick up food from frying oil. The extra length can really help prevent "oil pop" burns. I recommend this product and will not buy it again…

Step away from the skimmer and order this!

If you fry, you must have this! The lightweight design keeps food in the basket and drains oil and water quickly. Have you ever drained fried or cooked food and when you did, what was in the pot was overcooked? Not anymore with this handy tool! A 7-inch basket is enough to scoop and sear everything in the pot at once (because you're going to have to cook in batches anyway, right?). Perfect for delicate foods. I've used it for German dumplings, fried shrimp, beer-battered fish, french fries, and
