Pleasantly surprised!

When I ordered this I had low expectations. I expected it to work and be square, but no more. When I took it out of the packaging, I was pleasantly surprised. This is a really good visa. Not only is it fully functional, but it has a perfect finish, beautifully beveled edges and lacquered grip grooves - those little things that typically separate premium tools from cheap ones. The moveable jaw moves smoothly but with no noticeable lift or wobble. There's really nothing to complain about…

Ideal for amateur level work

Ideal for amateur level work. The inner edges are very sharp and the outer edges have been beveled correctly. The metal of the vise is very hard to the touch - you can't break the inside edges with a file. Select knitting: the screw does not rotate stably and smoothly. It definitely works fine. The jaws seem to stay flat when you clamp them with something. Tolerance seems good. It looks solid, but not "upscale". In real life it seems to be more than I thought. Fits my CNC 6040 very well. Good vise but more than I expected.

The vise appears to be well made and the screw moves the jaw easily with no play, but the vise is much larger than I expected. The description says the jaws are 2" wide, but they are actually about 2-1/2" wide. They are shown in the drawing as 63mm wide, which is 2.48 inches. I measure jaw depth as 1-1/8 inch, not the advertised 1 inch. I confess that I didn't pay much attention to the dimensions on the drawing or other features listed below. So I can only blame myself for getting a little more
