Description of HIC Brands that Cook Nylon Mesh Strainer, 🍳 7-Inch: A Must-Have Kitchen Tool for Efficient Food Straining

HIC Double-Ear Fine Mesh Strainer for sifting, draining, straining, and sieving foods and ingredients before cooking and baking. Sits securely on pots and pans, mixing bowls and other food preparation containers to keep both hands free for other tasks, like measuring and pouring. Aerate ingredients and remove clumps for lighter, fluffier baked goods, or smoother soups, sauces, pastes and purees. Nylon mesh removes smaller bits and allows liquids to drain; non reactive nylon material is perfect for use with acidic foods, like tomato and citrus. Hangs for convenient and compact storage; top-rack dishwasher safe.

Indispensable for straining milk kefir!

This nylon strainer is essential for sifting milk kefir. Metal is not recommended, but this one is a nice size. Don't forget to rinse with water afterwards, it will last a long time.

Pros
  • Great for me
Cons
  • Some bugs

Good sieve, bad shipping packaging.

I would love it if it didn't come in an envelope. Arrived broken and dented. I tried smoothing it out but the creases remained. I bought it to use only for sifting.

Pros
  • Great construction
Cons
  • Reliable

Well made and sturdy

It arrived in an envelope and was crushed but I was glad it survived despite the poor packaging. I've used it tons and love how it attaches/sits to a large bowl. Makes rinsing the rice so easy and also easy to clean as the small holes are too small for rice to get stuck in. It can also easily be used to rinse/strain everything else.

Pros
  • Finished
Cons
  • Functionality

Only one strainer fits colanders and food strainers

I bought this kombucha strainer because I can't use metal from staples. However, I thought I would get all 3 sizes shown in the photos. He looks strong. I haven't used it yet. It arrived slightly irregular in shape, but that's not surprising since it's nylon. I wouldn't use it for hot stuff, only cold stuff because it's plastic from China. I think it's perfect for what I bought it for.

Pros
  • This is amazing
Cons
  • Nothing here

Nylon Mesh Strainer

I bought this strainer because it is made of nylon and not the stainless steel that I use to make kefir. This filter is great for that! It is very easy to use and clean. I like my kefir to have little bits of milk in it that I can squeeze down with a spoon and this makes it a thick form which improves the consistency of my kefir. This also allows me to see the smaller kefir grains forming and easily transfer them to my new batch. It is not as durable as stainless steel due to the material it is

Pros
  • Large selection
Cons
  • No

7 inch NON FINE MESH

I thought it would be comparable to the fine mesh in the smaller ones I bought for sifting kefir mushrooms, but unfortunately it's not. In fact, the holes are slightly larger than in a normal window grille. Yes, maybe it's good for quinoa, but maybe not. Too big for anything but sifting flour. Because it's so cheap it's not a terrible waste of money, but it still means I have to look elsewhere for non-reactive voltage. I was hoping to use it as a fine strainer for homemade juice from my Omega…

Pros
  • Well built
Cons
  • Not bad

No "thin " meshes!: Kitchen & Dining

This strainer is decent, it's good for plastic. However, the holes in the net are huge! About the same size as your standard strainer with a porcelain lid. I bought this in high hopes that I would have an easy way to strain quinoa and make nut milk. Well, the quinoa falls right through. Technically, the strainer still works if I soak the quinoa first so it swells, which is an incredibly annoying inconvenience that turns my seeds into liquid measures. I'm not even going to try making almond milk

Pros
  • Regular Price
Cons
  • Lots of Stuff

Well! Make sure you choose the right fermentation size

This is a great strainer. I can use it for water kefir without wasting tons of grains and I can use it with milk kefir without clogging it. But I made a mistake; For some reason I figured (why?!) I'd have to get a bigger screen since the 7 inch screen costs about the same as the smaller one. It was stupid. 4 inches wide and in medium sized cereal bowls. A 4 inch strainer would be better for this. I just ordered one. I always order the wrong thing. A strainer the same size as the neck of the jar

Pros
  • Crossing my fingers
Cons
  • Frequency
