Description of 🧈 HIC Stainless Steel Butter Cutter with 7.75" x 2.625" Wires

HIC’s Butter Cutter easily slices through sticks of hard butter for uniformly sized pats of butter and a nice table presentation. Made from aluminum with stainless steel wire; sturdy, durable, and resists rust. Fine-gauge cutting wire slices easily without straining hands or wrists; helpful for people with arthritis and carpal tunnel. Works best when butter sticks are chilled; center the Butter Cutter lengthwise over the butter stick and press down with steady firm pressure to slice. Hand wash in warm, soapy water.

Absolute rubbish! Broke on first use :-(

Quartered a frozen pack of Kerrygold butter and then tried using a HIC butter cutter to cut the two pieces, right: butter was cut in half lengthways and then recreated four evenly long cubes of butter the cutter barely matched the length of the butter and halfway through cutting the wires stretched and then fell off the cutter For under ten bucks I think you get what you pay for.

I'm so happy I bought this slicer

I'm so happy I bought this slicer. One of the best purchases I've made in a long time. Pretty easy to use. Unfold the dipstick but leave the oil on the paper. Line up the slicer on top of the butterstick and press the butter down. Then, without removing the knife, take the butter stick to the paper and twist the stick onto the butter dish. Gently run your thumbs or forefingers across the paper to complete the cutting process. Good even slices that help keep the butter dish less messy and make…

More than one way to use it.

After reading the reviews I wasn't expecting much but was pleasantly surprised. I have a single stick oil pan which is a great size for regular store bought oil. So I set up the edge of the plane and worked or rocked it down. I flipped it into the oil pan and pushed down a couple of stuck washers. Perfect. My husband loves Cabot cheese and I buy it in bulk. So I cut it to the size of the antenna and swing it evenly on both sides. Twist it back into the plunger shape and squeeze the stuck ones…

Just average quality among mandolins and slicers

Pros: Butter is cut to just the right size. Cons: 1. The length is 1/2 inch shorter than a butterstick (at least the store-bought butter I use) so I have to cut off one end of the stick first. Not that big of a deal, but why couldn't they make it a little longer? 2. HAND WASH ONLY But why? The cutting wire is stainless steel so this shouldn't be a problem when washing in the dishwasher. The frame is made of aluminium, which can discolour in the dishwasher, so what? I'll put it in the dishwasher

Works best in graters, vegetable slicers and slicers

I had one of these years ago and it is not as well made as my previous cutter. Nonetheless, it served its purpose and I'm happy with it. We spoiled around 80 people with fried potatoes for a fasting meal. Sam didn't have individual butter cakes - apparently they only wear them on holidays. I lost my original cutter in Katrina so I ordered this one. It worked well and we all thought it was a good job. We just had to be careful to place it correctly on the butterstick. Once it was cut through we…
