I've had this bread bin (red) since 2016 and I'm still very happy with it! It has withstood everyday use by me, the kids and my husband. He also survived a move and was used as a jumping ramp by cats to jump onto the closets. We managed to lose one of the black plastic covers on the door. Anyway, I don't really know what its purpose was. I added a picture of it next to my Kitchen Aid mixer to emphasize the red tone.

This bread bin is made of very thin steel, which I knew when I bought it. This should work fine for us since we're empty nesters, but it won't work well with kids if it can be knocked over. The first one I received was very poorly packaged and damaged unusable. The replacement came quickly and although it was packaged just as badly it only has one small dent I can live with. I really like my new bread box. This is a beautiful red. It's a lot roomier than I thought it would be. For 1 loaf of bread, 1 loaf of raisin bread, 1 box of cakes and 8 homemade biscuits. This lightweight product has a clean and smooth feel. The problem is that they are made very cheaply and the quality control is clearly terrible. I just received the bread box today. First, it's light and big enough for a loaf of bread and a few extra items. Two negatives: It's very thin metal and the top edge of my bread bin wasn't perfectly aligned/flush so there's a gap on the left side that isn't there on the right side.
