Hoover 40110004 WindTunnel Final Filter Review

These are not the "last" return air filters for my Hoover vacuum. They are the post filter after the main paper vacuum bag. Better than nothing I've used them but not the HEPA style I was looking for. They have a green grid.

As stated in other reviews there was no green side like the original filters. I read another review that indicated that while there was no green side, there was clearly multiple layers (all white), with one side being softer than the other. I couldn't tell any difference between the two sides and it doesn't look like there are multiple layers of different materials.

I don't think anyone has the latest Hoover wind tunnel filter. These people sent me one for a self-propelled bagless vacuum, despite the name saying otherwise, and I ordered a non-self-propelled one. Another company sent what they said was the last filter but it is very flimsy and I doubt it will be of any use. I wonder if Hoover stopped making the last filter so people have to buy a new vacuum?

My vacuum requires a longer end filter than this type, although this product ID matches what my vacuum says on the vacuum cleaner website. Since there are 2 of these in this set I just cut out one and used about 1 and 3/4 of these filters. I was trying to save money by buying this but it would be the same price if I had ordered 2 packs of Hoover at 9.99 for the ones that were actually the right length. Spring.

I got angry too when I opened this. I didn't read the reviews when I ordered which I always do, but it was a simple item that I didn't think could be messed with so I just ordered. After receiving it today, I was immediately upset because like others I was expecting a tri-color filter. BUT if you look closely you will see that it is actually 3 ply, it's just that all the plies are white as stated on their website. The rougher side is white earlier, the softer green. FYI for a replacement.

I have an upright Hoover U5491-900 that fits in Y-bags. This exhaust filter is the same part that the unit originally came with. A few reviewers have mentioned that this is not a framed pleated filter or HEPA filter, which is true. This is a normal sponge, just a piece of white filter material. However, this is a nice thick genuine Hoover piece. My vacuum cleaner exhaust grille was made with a door and plastic tabs and crossbars that hold the filter in place. I've seen some reviews here that they didn't get what they ordered or that the product information is wrong. It's not relevant. You just have to pay attention to the description of "non-self-propelled" vacuum cleaners and make sure you look for the part number and model number on the back of your vacuum cleaner. I researched this filter on the vacuum cleaner website before buying it here and they said they swapped out the filter for an all white one. Before ordering, visit the vacuum's website…
