💪 Enhanced Hoover Actuator Arm Review

The original broke, probably because he took the block by the handle, this shouldn't be done. It took a bit of disassembly to get at it, but it works.

Actuating lever engaged properly. It wasn't difficult to install. You can watch the disassembly on youtube. If it breaks again I will definitely buy another one. The vacuum cleaner is like new again.

It takes a bit of a hassle to replace a broken drive arm, but it's the part that controls the Hoover Windtunnel Vac's forward and reverse movement. This threaded metal cable part is superior to the original nylon part. Just don't try to lift the vacuum cleaner by the handle. This transfers the weight of the vacuum through the two-stroke cord and locks the hand in place.

I've waited several years to replace this part in our wind tunnel vacuum, thinking it would be serious work. After watching a video on YouTube I ordered this arm from Revain with a new cable. Upon opening the vacuum, however, I found that the entire end of the old lever was missing, so I had to make a new custom washer and find a working replacement screw. This repair took longer than expected, but in the end our vacuum cleaner was like new again.

The Actuator Arm should be shipped as an assembly - Arm, Screw and Washer, Cable Clip/Bracket and Securing Clip. Luckily I found the screw and washer clip sooner and put them aside not knowing what they belonged to. I was also careful not to lose the locking clip when removing the old washer from the vacuum. Therefore, handle the old actuator with care and make sure you have all the parts before ordering a new lever. The screw that secures the cable in place is a little fiddly. The screw has a…
