Reverse brake lights

The unit disables cruise control when the turn signals are used. I thought this was due to the circuit going back to the brake light wire which is used to reset the cruise control. It was later proved by adding a quick connect to the brake cable and the cruise worked again.

Not enough power or bad grounding?

I bought this to connect to my 2017 Chrysler minivan. The previous one was the $70 Curt brand, which lasted a year before dying (there was a box). I plugged this in and all the lights on my trailer flashed on and off for a moment except for the driver's side tail light. I bought the best $60 suspension from E-Trailer (not Curt) and installed it exactly like that, grounded it to the same spot as this Hopkins, and it works fine. My trailer is a Venture 2200 with a 17 foot boat.

The right turn signal does not work.

Everything works fine except for the right turn signal. I get nothing from the end of my 7 pin. I didn't want to take everything apart and send it back so I bought some diodes and hooked up the right turn signal and brake wire to the same wire and just clipped it just before pin 7 on the harness and now everything works fine except the right one. The brake disables the right turn signal. Then I decided to take care of the new suspension because I liked that the left turn and the brake worked…

Almost Perfect - 2003 Montero Sport

The thing itself works great - easy to fit and test; Instructions are simple; DIY for 2003 Montero Sport online. The only problem is that the green wire, the only wire that needs to be routed to the passenger side lamp housing, can be at least 6 inches longer. Added length on the driver's side 3 (brown, yellow, and red) also helps hide the chunky black bodywork where it's not as exposed. I understand this wiring harness is generic but my M/S is no bigger than any other car. Having 6-12 inches…

Works as advertised, within limits.

This product performs as advertised, however it is important to understand its limitations. As mentioned, it will turn off your cruise control when you signal whether it's using the brake lights to detect braking. It is also important to note that it will not work if the brake or turn signal are not connected. For each side turn signal, this is a relay with a coil between the brake and turn signals and diodes to energize the relay input. When the brake or turn signal is on, a reverse feed (high

Works great but causes cruise control to cut out

First of all if I had read the FAQ above I would have seen that the manufacturer recommends a power converter for my car. Probably due to an issue I discovered. I'm using it on a 2004 Vibe and it works, but my cruise control cuts out every time the turn signal comes on. I assume it will work the same way on Vibe's sister cars: Toyota Matrix and Toyota Corolla. I bought it to replace a broken plug and play device. Having previously had a plug and play unit, I had connectors to plug into the…

I have a 2004 GMC 1500, taillights have amber turn signals and red brake lights. great if you want to hook up a 3rd brake light on top of the rear brake lights, but complicates the 4 wire flat wiring for independent brake and curve trailers. The WT (work truck) model I have does not have a harness connector for the trailer lights in the junction box on the back of the truck. The answer was to hook it up to the taillights, there's room for that in the driver's side taillight well, and the green…

as always. Packaging and contents are good.

I was originally looking for a plug and play kit for my car. I have a 2002 Toyota Solara but couldn't find it so I settled on this set. The product arrived on time from Revain as always. Good quality packaging and contents, which is what I have come to expect from Hopkins. I've used them on my other cars. I would have given 5 stars if it wasn't for the fact that it didn't have wired connections. Since you will need to connect this wire to your existing wiring harness, it would be a good idea to
