it worked really, really well. The old felt cowboy hat my uncle gave me has been gathering dust for a long time. I didn't think I could clean it well enough but it took about 5 minutes to get it looking like new. The reason for the 4 stars is that initially a lot of the bristles fell off the brush which wasn't too worrying as it's a black hat but if it was a lighter color it would bother me. Overall good value for money. The fallout stopped within a minute.
