The towel rail itself is polished stainless steel and looks nice, but the end pieces (brackets) are non-metallic, cheaper material, which I think detracts from the look of the unit. Update: The towel rails stopped sucking shortly after my last review. Not one to give up too soon, I've tried attaching them in other ways. First I cleaned both the shower wall and the suction cups, rinsed thoroughly and dried. Then alcohol was applied to both surfaces. While still wet, I pressed the cups against the wall, making sure they were completely flush with the wall, and lowered the brackets to secure them. They haven't moved since then. Edit 5-21-17: Replacement towel rail tips arrived about a week ago. BUT. The company's goodness went even further. The first batch was delivered to the wrong address. When the error was discovered, Interlink Products sent a SECOND set of ends, apologizing for the US Postal Service's error and further assuring them that they would take care of me. Now remember.
