It takes a bit to build up pressure however my other pc was a 4 qt this is a six qt. Bigger so that is probably why. Also the steam vent is a bit tricky looks like it should be on close when pressure cooking but actually I have to put mine way opposite end of open. Works great then, made stew, ribs, soup and pasta + not pre boil required. I love pressure cooking anyway been doing for about 7 yrs now with a digital type.

I love this pressure pot. It is easy to use and I am using it daily. I wish the manual had some starter recipes, but I've been able to find many on the internet. I would like to have a 2nd inner pot and a glass lid but the manual has no info on how to get those. As stated in other reviews, the manual has very minimal directions on how to use the various functions. The slow cooker method does not work. It gets too hot, boils and there is a lot of steam. The pressure cooker option does not work because of timing issues. Everything I have cooked from beans, meat, stew gets too mushy. Work great, seems to be well made however the cooker instruction need improvement, but there is help online to get the answers for most of the my questions. A word of caution, the metal parts get very hot and releasing of steam use extreme caution.Cooker looks good, it's well designed and the fit and finish is very good.

I use this almost daily. It does not come with any cooking instructions/recipes. I have to google, but there are so many recipes online and I love to try new things. BBQ ribs were best ever so far. It's trial and error sometimes with the timing. Cleaning is easy. I put the pot in the dishwasher.

I work all day and dreaded coming home to cook dinner and eating so late. But now I can feed my family, clean up and still have time to relax in the evenings! I should have opened it right away last November. I just did tonight the initial 15 minute test run as recommended. The steam just coming out of the float valve and won't seal up the cooker. Waited 45 minutes then I got the message E1. Cancelled the operation, checked the cord, tried again for 30 minutes, still not working. Will call the Service center for repair. the plug in wire that goes from the appliance to the wall jiggles and comes out. i have to have something propped up against it so it stays in the back of the appliance. since i didn't open it right away there is nothing i can do about it bit deal with it. the instruction book doesnt help out with anything. i am disappointed.

The instruction manual is hard to follow. The pressure cooker isn't intuitive at all. It seems like it should be with the programmable buttons, but it's not. The first time I used it, the recipe turned out well inspite of its limitations. The second time- it's turning out to be an expensive disaster with some pricey ingredients. Avoid.

This is a nice pressure cooker. I have used it primarily to cook beans. I use the "multigrain" button and add extra time using the "taste" button. I have cooked primarily large beans (pinto, garbanzo, black, etc.). I do soak the beans overnight but I would do that anyway (reduces gas). I like the way it cooks, but, sadly, I’m sending mine back. I’ve used it several times, but each time it takes several attempts to get the lid to seal tight. Eventually it seals and then cooks well. I checked to find replacement seals and I can’t find them. I read that I have to send it in to have the seal replaced. I’m afraid that is not acceptable to me.

Initially this was great. Now after a couple of months of use, it malfunctions and won't cook on about half the settings. Contacted Housmile and they sent out a new one immediately.

I bought this as a Christmas gift for my parents. They say they love it, They wish that the slow cooker time could be adjusted to a shorter duration (I guess it automatically forces a 6-hour cook time), but other than that, they think it is great.
