Prior to purchasing this protractor, I adjusted the tonearm height of my turntable like everyone else by observing it from the side and using my best judgment as to where true horizontal is. The acrylic protractor eliminated the uncertainty at this stage as it is now clear where the plane is using the block as a reference.
