Huepar Triple-Sided Display Detector Receiver Review

Useless. Bought with a Huepar laser level. The level itself works perfectly. Great indoor/low light apps, but pretty much useless in bright outdoor light beyond 5-10ft. which I thought might be the case when reading about these/laser levels in general. Hence the laser detector. which does not work after unpacking. Can't return it as I'm currently outside the US (and the 30 day return window expired before I had to use it). Back to old school shooting levels with my trusty old scope level. Would

I bought this detector together with the Huepar 603CG laser. Although the laser was easily visible from quite a distance in very dim light, it was almost impossible to use in broad daylight. This detector was VERY useful in daytime conditions. I bought this along with the Huepar Box-1G laser line in hopes that it would see the laser further than I could see the line on the road; That didn't happen. On a sunny day but in the shade of a large tree, the Box1G laser could be seen with the naked eye at about 10 feet away; this detector could only really see him at a distance of 9 or 8 feet. Didn't work out of the box. The specification says it works with the laser from the same company (622). This is the second device and both didn't work right away with new batteries. Would turn on normally but would be completely blind to the green laser in ideal indoor conditions. Tried indoors at different distances, tried outdoors at different distances. Since the device doesn't have a threshold setting - just an on/off switch, there's nothing you can do wrong other than insert the battery…

This was a great addition to my purchase of the B02CG Self Leveling Laser. Although the bracket that connects the receiver to the rail seems a little flimsy, it attaches and holds tight. I wouldn't say it's really a quality device, but it does the job I need it for. I use this at home, not for commercial work, so that's good enough. at the level for a split second and then turns red (higher or lower) almost immediately. I was able to shoot up to 150ft in the early morning/early evening with no problems. But it flakes off a bit in the harsh midday sun when the green light flickers and the horn does the same. I suspect this is an issue with glare from the sun on the optics. Maybe it would be better if it was shaded with an umbrella or something. Also, the adjustable clamp doesn't open wide enough to slide over the section sleeves on my survey pole, so there's a spot on every section where I can't get a good…
