Hunter 54204 Crestfield Ceiling Lights Review

Easy to install and the new shutter blade design made me very happy opening it. Did some electrical work for my uncle many years ago and I remember having to twist them all. Quiet and moves a lot of air. Will buy again for my daughter's bedroom.

The instructions for the fan and remote tell you how to connect the fan but not how to connect the lights. An email to Hunter and their prompt response provided the necessary instructions. Installation was easy and the fan and remote control work quite well.

I have bought Hunter products before and have never been disappointed. This fan was easy to install. It looks very nice and I love how quiet it is. I will need another fan for the other room and will most likely get another hunter similar to this one.

It replaced the old fan on the large back porch. It's very dark on the porch at night and if you don't have a light you won't see anything. This fan has a row of lights that illuminate the porch and keep it cool. It's very quiet here and cheaper than in a big store. Installation wasn't difficult.

This is a great quiet fan. I had read reviews that the (tiny!) bulbs that came with the fan weren't actually dimmable, so I bought some good dimmable Edison daylight bulbs and a 12" rod (plus some small pull chain extensions), to complete the outside view. The style is rustic, vintage, industrial and also modern (works with many different looks). We've chosen a gray driftwood for the blades, although you can choose dark brown if you prefer. Very happy with the purchase.

I have installed over 50 fans in 30 years. Most of them are Hunter, but at least a few other brands. Over the last 10 years Hunter has started making some cheaper models which as you can see are not very well made. And some are now hard to put down. I would prefer to give 3 stars. I bought this model because I need a model that can hold more than two standard Edison bulbs which are downward facing. So many new fans have a ball and only 2 bulbs, and they're either custom made or side facing. Custom lamps are not interchangeable. LEDs have a very directional direction, so side-firing bulbs don't scatter the light where it should. This fan was very easy to assemble and install. Not all Hunter fans are the same. I have a hunter in the master bedroom and it's awful. The thin stamped metal looks cheap and the motor is noisy and wonky. However, I bought these for my son's room. Just blown away. This "Crestfield" model is one of the best fans I have ever seen. The metal is not stamped and not thin. The housing and fan blades are made of "cast" metal and are very durable. I bought this fan and another Hunter 60" fan for my mother. She only opened the box yesterday to install as a cam electrically. This fan was supposed to have one side of the blades gray but instead it was unfinished - just nothing. The 60" fan had the correct colors on both sides so this was clearly a manufacturing defect.
