💧 Hydronix HF2 10CLWH12 White Clear Body Review

One of my four step RODI canister threads was frayed and leaking. This block used different 1/2" fittings than the old one, but these were readily available at hardware stores. We wrapped them with Teflon tape. No leaks. Will definitely buy another one when I need to replace the next canister.

SERIOUSLY poor quality control. Good people, we must move on. 2x Bottom broke through after minimal use with less than 30psi regulated pressure. There were 2 blocks of HUNG (no stress). Both aggregates failed within a few months and flooded the mobile home. I do NOT recommend ever buying this device.

Filter removal key not included. Mounting bracket not included. Probably not necessary. When using plastic fittings you need to be sure the threads are perfect or you will have a leak. Also, some cheap fittings will fall off before being tightened into position. If necessary, you can use O-rings instead of tape. Plan ahead so you can remove the hardware later if needed.

The entry side is very easy to dismantle. I used this as a Revain stock deal. It was cheap and I wanted a transparent case. I used it with a tight nipple, it leaked. So I shot it again. It's still leaked. I took it apart and noticed a small broken thread. Was in use when I bought it, not sure if it was split before I received it or if I overstretched it. This is a minus when buying used. Anyway I wouldn't return it and wait for another one. Filled with marine epoxy, threads anointed, no leaks…

Everything is good on this filter holder except for two 1/2" threaded inlets. I had two completely different standard 1/2" zinc plated fittings and both screwed in quite a bit. One was a 1/2" to 1/4" sleeve. Way to the bushing nut rubbing on the filter housing. The other was a 1/ 2" galvanized plug. Bought two of these to upgrade the water filtration system in my new motorhome. When they arrived I really liked the falls. They looked strong and seemed pretty good for the price. I chose them because of the price and the positive reviews. I installed them following other guidelines for using lots of teflon tape on the threads of the fittings. The photo shows my Hydronix HF2-10CLWH12 cartridges covered with foil to reduce algae growth. Plastic cup to catch spills. They were fine and didn't leak for the first 6 months. After the filter change, both started leaking where the clear canister meets the white body, so I ordered new o-rings. Unfortunately, the new o-rings are not as thick as the ones supplied, although they were listed as 1/8" thick and appear to be the correct specs. So I placed 2 more orders from 2 different sellers…

All plastics require a lot of teflon tape to seal. As others have said, getting an airtight seal is difficult. I used brass on the outlet and the threads fit tighter. I've also tried nylon and plastic 1/2" MPTs and the ones on the underside of the head seat. The input kit is torn internally but the case head is still serviceable. I'm on 4 of them and one was missing an O- Ring you can't make any hardware and Revain doesn't sell them It took me 90 days to fix it and it's too late to return it So
