ICON 12121 RV Skylight Review

Replaced an OEM flashlight that looked like a blister from a cold card. This skylight is thick, sturdy and will hopefully last a long time. Installation wasn't "easy" but that reflects the nature of the job more than this particular product.

Just what I wanted to have some natural light in my shop during the day. The roofers sealed them up really well and used screws and washers to install, about 8 holes on each side and a double skin around the edge. Don't leak! I think 10-12 years should be enough. He'll probably be dead by then. lol! A GOOD THING!

Worth every penny! I was about to need a skylight but it's just amazing. A million times better than a smelly plastic emergency exit. It brings much more light. And with a few extra inches, I can raise my arms above my head to do yoga! And it's great in the rain, plus it's very easy to install! I would like to buy a second one!

So far I'm very happy with the skylights. It took several days to remove the old skylights and clean the trailer roof without damaging the rubber membrane. The installation went exactly as shown in the YouTube video. I used a lot of special caulk/caulk and butyl rubber sealing tape. No leaks just amazed at the amount of light inside the caravan even with smoke windows in the sky. I only wish I had done that many years ago.

Skylight replaced with a white one. I hope this will reduce heat transfer from the sun. I was pleasantly surprised at how much thicker and stronger this skylight is compared to the original. After installation, the heat seems to have subsided, but it was only in the 80's, it's not the same as our 115 summer days in Vegas. Installation was easy thanks to the butyl tape and overlapping dicor. Mounted on class A with fiberglass roof. A few hours.
