A great way to add more hard drives to your computer

I'm a web designer and having lots of hard drive space is very important to me. Icy Dock has been very helpful to me as it allows me to swap out drives that I only use for backups, which means they don't have to be running all the time when I have my computer on. Only when I need them. The slots don't require any tools, but you can screw them in if you'd like. I used a 2.5" HDD and a 2.5" SSD (I've used Crucial MX500 and Western Digital Blue 2.5" 2TB drives and they all fit well. The quality of

Poor quality LEDs and fans. Everything else is good quality

Save money and buy something more reliable Bought this system to house my raid drives. a week later the headlights of the top drive began to dim. Functionality was retained, so I figured it might be dust blocking the diodes. When I pulled out and examined all the discs, I found that the diodes in the upper part were burned out. Might buy again but will consider my options. **Update: As of July 22, 2017, this device has been running non-stop since March. Disconnected for scheduled maintenanceโ€ฆ

Wonderful ICY DOCK drive bay combo module

This bay does a great job of organizing space for two SSDs and a 3 1/2 inch hard drive. You will need a long bladed magnetic screwdriver to install the screws that secure the 3 1/2 inch drive. It's difficult, but not impossible. SSD cages are very convenient. I put the boot disk in the left slot. You need to pay attention to which cable is connected to the SATA port of your mainboard. In my case, longer SATA cables are needed to get from the drive cage to the motherboard. You'll need to measure

Great product but I recommend the best fans for 24/7 use

The case I use has 8 3.5" bays which I didn't want to give up as I have 4-3- TB drives and will either buy the 4-8TB for the rest or the 4-12TB I just saw when Segate dropped them. I like the 6 drive rack design that occupies a 5.25 drive bay. Great for all those 2.5" drives I used to have in separate external cases. I have multiple drives in a raid and as far as I can tell there is no performance degradation from using this product. Looks great and keeps my drives cool with dual 40mm fans. Myโ€ฆ
