Very high quality product

Wow! It looks and feels like a very high quality product. It was a bit more expensive than other similar items but the reviews convinced me to buy it and I'm so glad I did. It fits great, looks great and is very functional. The only downside is that you have to put drives in a removable tray, but that far outweighs the device's design and utility. Highly recommended! Also, what else are you going to do with the drive bay?

  • There's something in there

Great product and absolutely amazing customer support

I build high end workstations for myself and others. For a number of years I have shipped one of the two bay Icy Dock cases to every system to make it easy to swap out SSDs used for backup and large data storage. Icy Dock cases are high quality, easy to install and use. That alone has made me buy them again and again and tell others about them too. However, I recently needed very small screws that are used to attach the SSD to removable trays. I contacted Icy Dock support and received a reply…

Ideal and not just for the money

Well invested! I had to improvise with other screws, the ones provided were too short for my optical disc to floppy conversion bracket. Be careful though, it's easy to insert the carriage the wrong way around and damage it when trying to close the lever. This is a solid build, but it's not reliable. Quality for the price makes me buy bigger RAID options and I don't need RAID. The activity lights work, but only for drives that support it, e.g. B. My $25 SDD doesn't work, but a 1TB Seagate hard…

GET THIS instead of individual trays. Read why

First of all a great product. I wish I had found these sooner. Hot-swappable and dual SSD bays, cool. Per my headline, individual additional trays are around $16 and this product comes with 2 trays for around $30. So you'd better buy it with two trays than to buy two more extra trays separately. At the very least, you can either have a spare plane if you need it, or place it on a second computer and swap the SSDs between computers if that makes sense.

Pros
  • Excellent workmanship
Cons
  • Boring packaging

Best 2.5 " hot-swap drive dock for use in 3.5 " drive bays

I use similar hot-swap bays in various desktops and servers. Stable and stable transfer speeds. Excellent heat dissipation, but the cage/dock can get hot on traditional rotary drives without proper cooling. Uses only one power plug. Cons: Not much, but there is a small downside to using two Spin drives at the same time; the dock/cage should vent itself. Heat dissipation from the dock/cage is very good, so a small amount of moving air keeps this cage/dock cool. My two cents on spin drives - use…
