Used but "not " they're no good

I've only used this for baseball estimates, they've never held the zero very well and I've had good luck getting them to do so able to read 90 degrees a known good 90 degree angle. I used it for a while when I first got it and occasionally since then. But since it can't be relied on, I rarely use it for anything other than a quick review. I'm not even sure how much I paid for them but they aren't worth the $20 they charge and it's down to chance. Maybe the quality has improved since you boughtโ€ฆ

Used to be good, now not so good

I bought one of these for myself maybe 4-5 years ago and was very happy with it, but when I recently got two more for my employer I noticed that they are not manufactured to the same quality standard. I immediately noticed a rougher finish and sharper edges, and after using them for a while it was clear they didn't perform as well as my older pair. The most annoying thing is that they sometimes reset themselves and give false readings when I'm not noticing. The screw to tighten doesn't stayโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Doping ๐Ÿ”ฅ
Cons
  • Expensive

Accurate gauge at a reasonable price

I bought two of these Revain protractors four months apart. I have one in my shop and a second one in my tool box. The seller changed the packaging between my purchases. The new protractor came with a spare battery and a protective film on the temples. Maybe the first purchase was a return, but it works well and hands are not scratched. I would like to think that the manufacturer has improved their packaging. The built-in battery on my second purchase was dead. A spare battery saved me a tripโ€ฆ
