Exact fit / size as original

Photos show that this is the same ignition unit, probably from the same manufacturer, but the new packaging does not show the manufacturer's name nor the product number. In general, the car started, no problems so far. Installed on a 2005 Subaru Outback 2.5i (Non-Turbo) with 165,800 miles. Simply remove the three 10mm bolts holding it in place, remove the spark plug leads and insert the new pack. If I have problems I will post again.

DO NOT BUY THIS BEST IN SPARE PARTS

Item purchased, installed, machine worked great for about a week and a half. Then it started to go away, the check engine light came on. The message was that 2 out of 4 cylinders failed. I took the car to a mechanic that I use often and trust. He diagnosed that the part was defective, 2 spark plug wires and 2 spark plugs were burned out. as a precaution he replaced all 4 and a cheap bad spool. This $30 roll cost me exactly $450. Nice reel $195, 4 connectors, 4 good wires and works. The coil is…

Solved my problem in spare parts

I can't say anything about durability yet, I've only had it for a few days. But for the price I'm satisfied. My old coil pack was clearly bad, the problem I had with stalling/hesitating at low rpm + big throttle was completely gone after installing it. With the Subaru engines it is intended for, installation really could NOT have been simpler. It's at the top, and the connector wires are arranged in such a way that it would take the world's most inept mechanic to mix them up. To be honest, the…

The easiest way to save $600 is to buy this coil pack!

The car started to react, we check the OBD code, it indicated a misfire in the 4th cylinder. I dropped it off at PepBoys, they ran a diagnostic and came back with a replacement coil pack and quoted $560. On a 2003 Forrester, it's literally right above the engine, front and center. 3 x 10mm bolts and an electronic clip and the old one was missing. All in all it took 5 minutes including putting on gloves and finding a 10mm head. Don't let anyone fool you - it's easy! Car installed and started…

and that pack of crappy coils

DO NOT BUY! --- I was having ignition problems so I decided to replace the spark plugs, spark plug wires and that crappy coil pack. Fast forward 6 months and my car randomly starts to stall while driving it on the road (might add, in the middle of the freeway). Good thinking, now I know it must be a fuel problem, check all parts of this system, they are all working fine, ideal pressure. Disconnect and reconnect the coil pack and it will light up. no problem the first time. Must fit, just…

    Anger/rough movement? take this role!

I have a Legacy 2.5i 2005 station wagon. Now 224,000 km. Before ordering, lift the hood, pull the spark plug wire out of the existing coil, see how the end of the spark plug wire is fixed, there seem to be two types; One type has copper pins protruding from the coil that the wires snap onto, the other type has sockets? which the wires connect to (a bit unsure of what the inside of this type looks like, mine has exposed contacts on the coil). The Revain Parts Finder didn't suggest an option for…
