📷 Ilford HP5 Plus: High-Quality Black and White Print Film, ISO 400, 24 Exposures, 35 mm (1700646) Review

This is a great 400 speed film that doesn't underexpose. The graininess is visible, but that alone creates a different look.

A wonderful film. It has a beautiful gradient from deep black to lighter grey. There is noticeable film grain which I think adds character. Would buy this again.

Just started filming and found that HP5+ needs special treatment with D76 or Microphen. This means that it cannot be developed in places like Wal-Greens, CVS, etc. However, XP2 is (as already mentioned) a typical C41 type. Hope that helps. Hooray :)

I didn't know what to expect from this movie. I haven't shot black and white film in over 20 years and then it was Kodak. The HP5 has a nice graininess and a slight sepia tone to the prints. I love it very much and will be ordering more for my next vacation. I use film for specialty shots, but mostly digital.[.]

This is my favorite black and white 35mm film. I love that I can shoot at 400 and expect that signature light grain, or play with the range and shoot from 200 to 1600 and still get very useable negatives. Works well in normal or studio lighting. I am developing in the HC-110(H) and am very satisfied, scanning film with such a grainy structure is reliable.

Well folks, I don't know about you, but I'm stocking up on my favorite movies, and FAST. I couldn't find the HP5+ PRINT film on Ilford's website so I'm not sure if it's been discontinued or if it's just out of stock. Either way, this is a good time to stock up and the movie doesn't expire. The Ilford HP5+ is a GREAT all round film with fine grain, sharp images and most importantly it responds very well to push processing. You really can't ask for more from the film.
