Great alternative to buying the whole cable set

Great alternative to buying a whole cable! It took me a little over 15 minutes to install. On the Civic 98, remove the kick bar (it's only held by 2 clips). Use a 10mm socket to remove the bracket. You need to remove the piece of plastic barrel from the old pen that broke. For this I decided to use a small copper pipe cutter. You can use whatever is at hand. Take off the old part and put on the new one. Tighten the locking screw and reassemble everything. Easy! A word of caution, some people…

Looks good, easy to assemble, works great and is cheap. The perfect product.

Fits my old 2002 Honda Civic coupe that I've used pliers on the hood for years. I don't know why I didn't do this sooner. I bought the red version and it looks great and is made from nice solid metal with 2 set screws to attach it to the hood release cable shaft. The installation took me a long time. about 15 minutes, most of the time being spent removing the body paneling and, importantly, removing the old plastic around the metal bar it's attached to. Handle OK, will not work with Dorman Replacement Cable

I like this product, but I have concerns. The set screws I received were not only too short, but one was a hex head (wrench was included) and the other was for a flat head screwdriver. If you get them there, you are using very few threads. The drilled and tapped holes were unevenly spaced, with one roughly in the middle and the other closer to the bottom of the inner hole. The main problem is that it doesn't work well with the Dorman replacement cable. . I bought both at the same time to avoid…
