Best value for money

I put a SATA drive in one and an SSD in the other and they both work great (more than 2-8 months now). I bought a 16 inch USB to Type C cable as I don't have a Type C port on my laptop. The case is one of the cheapest but has a real aluminum body. This case acts as a heatsink for passive cooling. Other models use plastic and sometimes silver plastic. Before installing a 2.5" drive, take a 2" wide piece of aluminum foil and fold it into a 2 x 3" rectangle with 6 layers thickness. Place it on the

Not bad for computer accessories and peripherals

This is a very good docking station considering its shape and aluminum body. It worked without errors, although I didn't measure the read and write speeds. I plugged it into the T3 port on a new iMac. I give it 4 stars because the #0 Phillips screws used to close the case are very small and the holes are misaligned, say 1/3 of the hole diameter is misaligned which requires some body work. I suppose that's not a factor, nor is the very thin inner plastic frame that the drive fits into before…

Buyers pay attention to hard drive accessories

I am showing a picture of using a SATAIII to USB 3.1 cable to easily run my hard drive through this connector. Once I just use this device, no matter what cable I offer, it just doesn't provide a good connection. The case itself is nice and solid, but the wobbly rubber pad doesn't fit properly and the included screwdriver is too big for the tiny screws. I had my own driver that I used. Other than that it looks good and wow it's just great for a ride like mine that won't move much. But if you're

It has a BIG feature.

Okay, this is exactly what I was looking for: a 2.5 inch case that I can use as an external boot device for my desktop. I wanted something that uses the USB-C connector so that other USB ports are available. To be honest I don't care about USB-C transfer speeds as I don't do anything that I/O intensive. The case is made of durable aluminum with a rubber strap running around it, which also serves to hide two tiny screws. The included USB-C cable is a bit short, but that's not a problem for me…

Rugged chassis Best among hard drive accessories

I got it to hold an essential SSD to use as external storage for a 2018 Mac mini. Everything works great. The aluminum body is solid, everything worked without problems. I got this over other cases mainly because it had USB C Gen 2 for faster read and write speeds than most other USB C cases on Amazon that weren't Gen 2. It's also better than many other cases because it's aluminum. and it's mostly plastic. Using the hard drive speed test utility, I was able to write about 1500MB/s and read…

Exactly what I was looking for. For the most part

Overall this case works as described. No notable fit or performance issues. It gets one star because the rubber band that hides the screws isn't embedded flush with the bottom, so the disc doesn't lay flat. Ironically, it has notches on the sides to keep the band in place. It's annoying when things don't sit right. I put rubber pads on the front to keep it flat. I will also echo other reviews that talk about having some sort of spacer to keep the HDD/SSD from hanging around inside. If you…

Works well at a good price.

Works well enough, the transfer speed is the same as the previous case I fried by connecting it to a USB-C cable that goes to the charger instead of mine MacBook was connected. Yes, oops. As far as I can tell the limiting factor is the SSD you have plugged in, not the case itself as I see other high end components than my Sandisk using the SSD and getting faster speeds. Also, for those complaining about the rubber band: it's a rubber band. I do not like it? You are not allowed to use it. It's…

Great compact body. As fast as your SATA SSD will allow.

I recently retired a SATA SSD from my machine. The drive still has a lot of life, so I decided to replace the many USB sticks I have lying around with a big, fast SSD that I can move around. I chose the INEO C2561c to have a little glimpse into the future with its USB-C Gen 2 interface: I opened the case, inserted my SSD, inserted the screws and the stamped rubber plug. After deleting old partitions and a quick format, it worked fine on every device I connected it to. The SSD it contains is a…
