User-friendly design - Hard drive accessories

plastic case, which is good because you can see what drive you have inside. In addition, this is a very convenient case with a spare hard drive. The built-in cable is also a handy addition โ€” reliable cables alone cost around $10 anyway. Will it survive insane conditions or falls? No, but it's perfect for your desk, drawer, and office.

Pros
  • Easy installation
Cons
  • Can cut

Nice, simple, clean and comfortable drive case.

This is great. Extremely light weight. I have a Samsung EVO Pro in it and I get everything the hard drive allows. I think I'll just glue this permanently and use it as a mega drive. I just pop the SSDs in, no screws or anything. It's also hot-swappable, I didn't have to reconnect it when removing drives. I will take more, a bargain at this price.

Pros
  • Quality workmanship
Cons
  • No instructions

Quick and easy to use

Wow. I connected my desktop computer's 500GB SSD (which I replaced with an M.2 drive) and tested it on my Dell Inspiron 7577 with USB-C/Thunderbolt port. Did a test copying a folder with mixed files of different sizes, which equals 68GB of storage. Files are copied at an average speed of 300Mbps, the fastest speed I've ever seen from external storage on a laptop and almost three times faster than USB 3.0 drives or flash drives. Very satisfied.

Pros
  • Ideal for a small home
Cons
  • Not sure

Defective on arrival: HDD enclosure

Good idea but the SSD HD enclosure was dead on arrival. I connected my 2T Micron SSD which I took from another case, and connected them to this case with the built-in Type-C cable. The blue activity light came on, but the external drive didn't show up on the desktop or in the search engine of my MacBook Pro. I replaced the SSD back with the old case and it worked and showed up. So I know it's not a problem with my SSD. I tried again and the same, the computer did not see this case or SSD. I amโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Great for me
Cons
  • Could have chosen a newer model

I am very disappointed with this case, it's after 8 months of occasional use gone broken . I used it to store a backup SSD to save important files, but the last time I tried to connect (I always eject the drive when I'm done) I couldn't connect. I tried it a second time and it seemed to try but fell off within seconds. So I ordered some replacements (and tried the drive in an old USB 2.0 enclosure) and never had a problem addressing the drive in the old enclosure. This was a majorโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Ideal for outdoor activities
Cons
  • No paint required
