Fragile item under test, measurement and inspection

Fragile item arrived broken. I returned it and ordered another one. This also arrived broken. Bad design and the manufacturer should change the packaging design to better support it.

Loose ballast when testing, measuring and checking

Loose ballast pellets roll around in the areometer. A part of the granules got stuck between the paper scale and the areometer glass. I wasn't sure if this affected performance and/or accuracy or what might happen with continued use. However, if this wasn't a problem, I don't think it would have been necessary at all to seal ballast at the bottom of the hydrometer. I have chosen to return the item for a refund rather than receive a replacement. Made in China.
