Bright headlights - mediocre installation

Great bright headlights, I installed them in the rear of the SUV to give extra light to the trunk area. They work great, but due to the very small amount of plastic the screws have to go through, it took a trip to the hardware store to find screws with a small enough head to attach them without damaging the flashlight's body .

Pros
  • cool product
Cons
  • low maintainability

Installation can be difficult

made of aluminum so using simple magnets will not work unless you glue the magnets to the back. This is the hard part. It comes with a clip on magnet which is pretty poor quality. Installed in my sandblasting closet and 3 gives enough light for my small closet. Add more as you need them. Mounting screws won't work here, but might work well for your project.

Pros
  • Stable test results
Cons
  • I will add later

Check your input voltage

I was about to write a bad review about having 3 ribbons out of 4 burned out when I checked my power supply and found it was 24V instead of 12V as I thought it would be. They are nice and bright and come with 3 different mounting options. The wires are only a few inches long, but that doesn't matter. They run about 30 minutes if you give them double the rated voltage.

Pros
  • Weight
Cons
  • Nothing here

Not quite what I expected but they work well.

They are light and flexible. I was expecting them to be a bit stiffer. They also come with some sort of magnet system which seems useless but we built it right into the trailer. They consume almost no energy, so they do not flicker and illuminate the room well. For the price you can't complain.

Pros
  • The best in their niche
Cons
  • Only available in white

Brighter than I expected

I use them to light my barn with a 12v solar panel and they work great. What I like the most are the magnetic mounts. So I installed them on Simpson tie-down brackets. So if I ever need to move them I just move the bracket, I also have one attached to the garage door track. The only downside is that the mounting holes on the ends are useless as the switch and wires get in the way of the screw mounting hole, but the clamp on the brackets makes up for that problem.

Pros
  • One year trial
Cons
  • Some cons

Surprisingly bright

I like these lights because they are lightweight and easy to install. I don't like these lights because they are not very bright. I have a tuff shed that is 12 feet by 20 feet. I installed four spotlights only to find they weren't as bright as I thought they would be. But I think for the money they are ok. The day after tomorrow. I checked again last night in total darkness. When I flipped the switch, the light surprised me. They were bright enough. So for the price they are great.

Pros
  • Few competitors
Cons
  • Unreliable

How can you beat the price?

These lights did exactly what I needed. Light up the inside of my 7x16 foot enclosed trailer. I connected the lights to one of the existing interior lights that were already in the trailer. The red wire from the light switch is positive and the black wire is ground. I grounded them directly to the roof rails with self-tapping screws, which also means I had to add eyelet connectors at the end of the wiring (no big deal). All in all these lights are pretty damn bright for the money and you can't…

Pros
  • Easy to read control panel
Cons
  • New competitors have arrived
