High-Performance Hoof/Farrier Nippers by Intrepid International Review

I will trim my pony (Welsh) white, soft hooves. Will NOT trim my horse's stiff hooves. Suitable for small animals but NOT suitable for horses.

The trimmers are a good size for hand size but as soon as I applied pressure the handles buckled from the pressure. I had to straighten the handles and add reinforcement to prevent bending.

DON'T SPEND MONEY ON IT! It's cheaply made in China and once it loses its sharpness (after the first hoof) it cannot be re-sharpened. It's heavy and has poor leverage. Only suitable for cutting yarn.

Must buy a whetstone. Or my horses' hooves were badly eaten. It could also be. Mine should be a little sharper. Arrived quickly and well packaged. I wish the grips were a little longer, but overall that seems to be the norm these days. Although it's beautiful.

Work great! I have trimmed hooves for 2 horses and a donkey and the latter was just as sharp/fast as the former. I've had higher quality wire cutters before, but for what I need them for, they work exceptionally well. I'll probably go through them with sandpaper before using them next time, but they don't really need to be sharpened just yet. Happy with the purchase.
