Higgins is a good feeding formula, growth rate and weight are very good. It thickens quickly, but you just need to feed quickly, I sometimes feed 2 servings, it's normal when feeding a baby.

This is my favorite blend for handpicked chicks. The last finch I raised with him is almost half a year old now and hell I made a few and gave him a full injection and of course he still loves him as an adult. Based on rice instead of corn, it is much easier for finches to digest. Excellent stuff.

I love this infant formula, not the Kaytee brand, and neither do my birds. I tried Kitty and my birds didn't eat it or not enough. I have this one and they loved it. I will continue to do this in the future. I cooked it and kept it in a bowl of warm water (like a double grill) and when it got tough I added a drop or two of warm water to loosen it up a bit until done. Worked great.

I am changing my rating because I have had problems with this product. When I blend in directions it looks like a puree. I can't suck it out or squeeze it out of a syringe. I add more water and it absorbs well, but even after sitting for a few minutes it thickens and is difficult to squeeze out of the syringe. This is very frustrating for me and the green-cheeked kid.
