The filter lasted about a month before the water took on a "fishy" smell, after which the replacement filters could not be installed as the ring was too tight to compress to solve. I ordered a replacement filter, the ring was already removed but it leaked after installing it. I refuse this mug.

This is a great filter but not for people who drink a lot of water. Since it's only recommended to filter 2 gallons a day and the tap water here is pretty bad, the filters last me about 1 week. This is a fantastic filter that keeps the water tasting clean and fresh. It's just not good for more than 1 person who only drinks water every day. Water tastes good after filtering; However, the filter is a big problem. There is a rubber ring that should seal the filter tightly. The instructions on this rubber ring are very confusing.
