I have two HDMI capture cards; this IOGear card and universal capture card with an Etron chipset. This card looks absolutely *terrible*. It looks like the bit depth of the video is very poor which is why there are terrible bars. It looks like the edition of a child's toy. Exactly the same setup with a different capture card looks 100x better.

I used to buy popular brands for 20-30 dollars and found there was 200ms of audio delay - I thought it was my OBS software, my Mac, my camera, finally , when I realized that It was of course a cheap product that I bought. I decided to buy this one and risk a bigger investment - leaps and bounds better and no sound lag. Save money and buy this instead of the cheap ones now

I've been testing some cheap capture cards recently, some were great for the money and some were really bad like this one. We never got it fully working. We tried OBS and Windows with different settings and different input resolutions, and the best we got was around 5 fps with stuttering + not always (it only worked sometimes). I tried installing the latest firmware from the manufacturer's site, it didn't help.

Affordable, lightweight adapter to connect my HDMI camcorder to my Mac and transmit it to Wirecast for live streaming. I bought two of these but every time I hooked up a second camera they got in the way of each other so this product seems to work best for single camera use. Buy a more reliable (i.e. more expensive) encoder from Blackmagic etc if you need a multicam setup.

I used this to capture video from my Pentax K3 DLSR to my MacBook Air M1 and it works great! Easy to use; just plug it in and get started. The MacBook recognized the camera immediately and there were no problems at all. I tested it with QuickTime, PhotoBooth, Zoom and OBS. Absolutely flawless. I am a very happy customer!

I originally took it for a streaming project with a friend of mine. After installing this I found I was completely over my head. I just wanted a device that would capture and allow me to easily switch between some settings so I could flow well together. This thing has a lot of features to set up and use, which is why I ended up using something else.
