My second iOSSafe for many years

This appears to be a reliable general purpose drive. I waited a bit to check it out. I bought it to replace another iOS drive, the "local storage" I bought years ago and has proved a champion. the old one still blows almost silently, but also almost at full power. That's the only reason I bought a new one. I switched computers three times and the original drive is still my copy of D/R "Local/In-Place". 5 out of 5 devices I received worked great

I had 5 ioSafe devices. I would say it reached 80%. I was one of the first ioSafe customers and already had a USB 2.0 model. So I've been using them for a while. At the moment I have 2 USB 3.0 3TB drives connected to my main desktop system. One of the drives is working properly. The other loses the connection from time to time. I can't use it as a backup device because at least 50% of the time I get a fatal I/O error and the device goes offline in the middle of a full backup. A short-term…

Calm! for external hard drives

I got my hard drive a while ago, my neighbors house caught fire and they lost everything and shortly after that I saw an article about ioSafe in a magazine. I like the look of the drive and its fire and water resistance. The indicator light is unobtrusive, but lets you know it's on and processing data (unlike my old WD MyBook, which lights up the whole room when you turn on the status light).
