Good product and customer service

Just installed and when we had a power surge that ruined it the warranty worked and we shipped, repaired and returned in about a week. UPDATED This device has failed two more times. When I tried to get a replacement I was told if they couldn't fix it they wouldn't do it. Both times I succeeded and failed again. I ordered another brand and am disappointed that my initial positive opinion of IOTA and their product was so wrong.

Pros
  • Free for educational purposes
Cons
  • I vaguely remember

Something has changed at IOTA and not for the better

I bought the 55 amp model many years ago due to the good reputation. He served about 6 years and then died. I bought a replacement in mid 2017 and it is now not working in mid 2019. I think the capacitors have already dried up in just two years. I'm now considering my future choices as these power supplies should last around 5-7 years if kept relatively cool. Mine used only 15 amperes and died after two years! I think Yota switched to cheaper capacitors at some point.

Pros
  • High marks for support and durability from testers
Cons
  • Long delivery time

Works as advertised

Good product and very well filtered power hence no static at all on sensitive radios when using it as a power supply. I have three of them, one is 20 years old. an old 30 amp unit that runs 24/7 365 days a year with no issues, keeps my deep cycle batteries charged and provides 12 volt power. I also bought an IQ4 Power Controller for battery monitoring. I would suggest the company include an LED indicator to let you know the device is powered. Although the device is still not visible in many…

Very good charger: jump starter, chargers and mobile power pack

Update after 1 week I only used it 2 times to charge after a longer period of cloudy weather - that's why I bought it. This is with their IQ equalizer module and it's almost perfect for my four GC2 Deep Cycle batteries. A 55 amp charger also works well but is not required. After a discharge of 50-60 amp hours, the batteries only draw the full 45 amps for 10-15 minutes. Thereafter, the internal voltage increases to the point where the current begins its downward curve. In just 40 minutes, the…

Direct replacement, solved all my electrical problems RV

I replaced the IOTA charger with this latest model of the same and am VERY happy with the purchase. It arrived and works exactly as advertised and with the separate IQ controller plug-in I have the option to upgrade to LiPo in the future simply by swapping out the IQ controller. This charger with controller keeps my batteries at the ideal level and eliminates the worry of overcharging when we have to leave it plugged in for long stays at fully connected campsites. There are a couple of 30 amp…

  • Excellent overall performance

  • Not bad

Great unit with few changes requested

Two of these chargers work 24/7. One has been in operation almost continuously since mid-June 2014, the other since the end of April 2015. I also use an IQ4 controller to connect them together. They are used to run computer equipment connected to a large battery. (Only one unit is currently active on the 120V side due to circuitry limitations. I change them about once a week.) These units work great. They run fairly consistently at 45 amps with no issues. When the power goes out and the battery
