Definitely heats my leopard gecko's warm side to the desired temperature when used with a thermostat. The only issue I have is that it doesn't heat half the tank, only 1/3, and is usually concentrated in the center of the pad, not all around like I've had with other rugs; but my gecko doesn't seem to mind. If I were to go up to 20 gallons I would consider buying a larger one.

The heat could hardly stay in the 90's. I ended up turning off the thermostat because my African fat-tailed geckos couldn't get past 90 degrees. About a month later I do a routine heat check with my heat gun and notice that both tanks I've used this heat mat in were room temperature (84 degrees), don't waste your money. Zoo Med thermal mats are better. I have one that has been used for 6 months and keeps 90-95 hooked up to a regulated thermostat very well.

I ordered 2 pieces, one doesn't heat at all. It stays at around 70 degrees. This is my room temperature. The sticky part was great, but I wouldn't recommend it because you have no idea if it's going to work or not. update it As I said, I bought 2 of these, one worked and the other didn't. now 5 days later and the other one has also stopped heating. I bought this heating mat on 04/03/2020. I taped it to the bottom of my 20 gallon terrier for two leopard geckos. The 3m adhesive separated by itself from the tank and mat on June 7, 2020. Since this mat was first installed on the tank, there was an air pocket in the middle and the mat could not stick. The mat is connected to a thermostat between 83 and 85 degrees.
