Description of πŸ”§ Irwin Industrial Tools 49907 - 16 Inch professional-grade tool

This product is easy to use. This product is highly durable. This product is manufactured in China. Solid center design provides extra rigidity while boring. Wide lands keep the bit straight as it bores through the hole. The flutes are ground behind the lands to funnel chips to the inside of the bit and away from the outside diameter, producing a faster, cleaner cut. Single-spur cutting edge scribes the circumference of the hole for a smoother finish. Solid center design provides extra rigidity while boring. 1-1/4 " Auger Bit

This is an excellent bit that will cut a smooth walled 1-1/4" hole perfectly. However, it requires a lot of torque to drive it Make sure you use a construction drill to operate it or you risk burning the motor. My Dewalt 1/2" right angle drill handles this with no problem, but you can hear and feel it "work" with this punch.

Pros
  • Auger Bit
Cons
  • High Price

Large drill, 1/2 " hex shank, good length.

I've been looking for a drill that won't protrude out of my drill chuck and I found it. This has a very strong hex shank and fits my 1st perfectly /2" keyless chuck. Can't understand why so many manufacturers make round shanks on large drills/mills; Cartridges begin to lose grip after a few hundred turns. This one is perfect; It doesn't slip and allowed me to pierce without stopping before pulling it out. I've burned 2 18v batteries and never had to tighten the cartridge. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

Great drill and a few precautions

Excellent drill. Cuts fast and picks up chips well. Used it to remove most of the debris from grooves in 6" x 6" pine joists. Also bought a 3/4 inch bit that is longer for drilling holes for oak pegs. Worked just fine. A few caveats: With a heavy-duty corded drill bit, the bit can go through wood quickly. If a knot or misalignment throws the drill off course, unless you drill slowly, you don't have much time to correct it. If you drill slowly, the drill can snag/stick and a strong drill will…

Pros
  • Power & Hand Tools
Cons
  • Available in white only
