The 3/8" fitting claim is somewhat misleading as the only 3/8" fitting is the waterline. , which helps, but I'm not sure if going back to 1/4 inch right away, including the drain and faucet lines, does anything significant. Unlike any other filter housing assembly I have seen, the housing is female and the cover is male. That in itself isn't a problem, but there's no groove for the o-ring, and no matter how many times it's carefully removed and reinstalled, it just gets caught in the threads, meaning it won't sit flush in the joint between bodies and lid. .Although you don't have to use teflon tape and NSF safe water thread sealants when an o-ring is involved, I've tried both things that flow like a geyser.
